Special Edition Details

Sougwen Chung’s High Tide Redux is printed on Fredrix Pulse Matte Canvas, a 380g, 19-mil, neutral-white canvas with a 2-over-1 weave. The matte canvas is a blend of 35% cotton and 65% polyester and is an industry standard for reproductions that require the appearance of a traditional artist canvas.

Unframed prints ship rolled over an inner core and are sprayed with a Satin UV protective coating. We strongly recommend using a professional framing service, mounting the piece in a traditional float frame.

24” x 20” Prints: The canvas print is made to 21” x 16.75” size per our standard border conventions for 24” x 20”, but printed on a 28” x 23.2” canvas for stretching accommodations.
40” x 30” Prints: The canvas print is made to 32.5” x 26” size per our standard border conventions for 40” x 30”, but printed on a 35.5” x 29” canvas for stretching accommodations.
Each print comes with an artist signed certificate of authenticity.

Artist's Statement:

"Étude Op.2, No 1-4 is the second opus in an ongoing series of meditations on form and memory. The Études' deliberately minimal approach alludes to an abstract narrative of loss and revival. The themes in succession: Cocoon, Bloom, Flight, High Tide. Formal variation, restrained palettes, and austere compositions invite the viewer into intricately textured worlds that echo beyond the surface of the image.

Drawing informs the character of this series of Études. The dimensional form and composition of each piece is inspired by textures and elements within an original series of improvisational graphite drawings, preserving a sense of immediacy in the final pieces."
